Quilting Mends the Soul - Stressors

Hello, yes its been a few days since I have posted, but I have been very busy! UGH the stress levels were at all time highs, and with that came a wonderful flare up of the SLE!

Oh well, it is part of life for me that has become the norm.

What do you do for the stress's in your life when they just can not be avoided?

It is a fifty fifty toss up. You either deal with them knowing the consequences, or you avoid them and deal with the consequences! As in if you don't go through it what is needing to be done does not get done, which leads to more stress due to not getting it done, but if you do them you know you are going to have a flare up. So it is never a win in the end.

This is common, and then you know you have to do things, but you don't want the pain, the stress, the inflammation, or the tiredness to follow.

What can you do?

Plan, Plan, PLAN!

On my good days I get as much as i can done in that (those) days. Rarely do I have several in a row. I know after the good one or two there are going to be three or four or more bad ones. So I do it, I jump in with both feet and go for it. For example: the bedroom change over to my serenity room and get away from life place. That took FOREVER and is still not complete, but the major things are done like painting, and furniture moved from one room to another. Still have to move a couple things back and then put things up on the walls, move my sewing machine and supplies there etc., but the room is sleep-able and I am happy with that. It is quite the room too, QUIET and dark when I need it to be. Moving in day was the worst, as I was so tired and sore the next few days I did nothing really. I looked at fabrics though, planned out a few new designs for quilts and then just vegged or slept.

On the bad days to follow - You do what you can only do! Bathroom, eat, and sleep. If you get more than that done you are having a good day. At least in my case that is a good day. But I do look at patterns that I like and try to find my own color ways to go into those patterns on my bad days for sure. I also, think of new ways to try things, such as Quilt as you Go, joining; and I came up with a new way for me to do it, I love it too. We will see how the rest of that project goes.

I used a new stitch on my Singer Futura for it, I will post pics later.

But, for those days you are just down, do not get discouraged, feel bad about yourself, or feel that you are less than! I used to do that and it made me sicker that I already was. You have to learn to accept that you are not the same as everyone else, and you will have good and bad days the rest of your life. There is no amazing drug out there to change it, make it tolerable yes, change it NOPE! And now Lyrica is a scheduled Narcotic thanks to the idiots who thought (think) it is a good idea to break it open and snort it and over dose! Seriously I have no respect for those idiots who make it more difficult for me to get the medications I need because they are freaking (insert even more colorful words here) dumb asses who can not cope with life on their own. Yep now even harder to get the med that helps to control never pain. Gabapentin was the first! Now this. UGH! Go snort some more bath salts for Gods sake!

Okay I ranted but seriously I got the call on the Lyrica and was like seriously... and then very colorful words flew like a flock of geese going south for the winter!

But anyway. For those of us who need to escape the idiocy of life, we have to. That is that, no more excuses to others, I just don't care if others think I am lazy, they have no idea what I get done, and how I do it, or when I do it. At times in the middle of the night, and others normal hours of wake time. But I have no real sleep schedule either, it is important to have those close to you who understand this phenomenon - Painsomnia.
Insomnia induced by pain - Some say it is not a real thing.

OH HELL NO! You have no idea until you experience it. OR when you are wide awake from a medication you have taken to reduce inflammation and it makes you so hyper you can not even think!

There are several articles which outline the causes, and the beliefs, but you are you and I am me, and that makes us two different scenarios. Your pain and insomnia is different than mine.

I say talk to your doctor and see what is best for you. I use Lyrica for me, but that may not be good for you! Tylenol does not work for me, but it may for you! So you see here is a black and white area I will not get into, other than you are not losing your mind it is real and it can make things much worse for you in the long run than you realize. So talk to your doctor or is my case DOCTORS I just figured out with all my specialist - I have 27 doctors!!! OH MY GAWD! And I know every one of their names, and what they do too! Well most days I do!

Okay I have hit a wall here, I need to go for a bit, and I need to rest up. I have things to get done which require me being a person in human form rather than the blob I am at the moment. We will take this topic up a bit more in depth later!

Until then, rest, eat, and rest some more you do you and be okay with it!
